Workers Respect A Toucan's House While Repairing A Pole
There is something heartwarming about this picture that certainly gives us a glance at the respect Brazillians have for the local fauna. Someone was quick enough to snap this shot when a wooden mast needed some urgent replacement for a concrete mast. When workers arrived, they were surprised with a bit of an unusual situation. A little toucan had built a house in the pole, and any construction work could mean that the bird would lose its house.
So as a form of respect, the workers made sure that they worked around the little toucan's house, preserving the bird's home.
After This Guy Lost His Dog, He Ended Up With Two Identical Pups At Home
Now, this is a story worth telling, and it easily screams "Brazil!" This guy was completely devastated when his dog ran away and after several days looking for the pup, he found himself with no hope. Three weeks after, he somehow found his dog, or at least the dog he thought was his, and brought him home. They were on cloud nine while feeling extremely lucky for finally being reunited.
But then something strange happened. The guy opened the door a week after he had "found his dog" and realized that his actual dog was standing right in front of him and had returned home. Just like that, he ended up with two identical pups and they lived happily ever after.
This Woman Was Done With Having Soccer Balls Kicked To Her Window
Well, this is an interesting and effective way to deal with a problem. Soccer is the most popular sport in Brazil. Kids grow up playing it in every corner of the country, which has resulted in some of the best players in history arising from Brazilian neighborhoods just like the one we see in the picture. The only thing is that it can become pretty difficult for neighbors to endure kids playing the entire day when soccer balls are kicked at their windows and houses constantly.
A lady was so done with it that she decided to take matters into her own hands. She made sure that every time a ball was kicked at her window it would stay there forever.
When The Police Protects Its Citizens
While this is not necessarily a huge representation of the relationship between the police and some citizens in Brazil, it most certainly is a beautiful story that restores our faith in humanity. Apparently, this guy was found by police walking around a neighborhood that is known for its heavy drug trafficking. After having a conversation with the guy, the police realized that he was just an innocent citizen who happened to have a large amount of cash on him.
When they asked him what the cash was for, the guy told them it was to buy bread. So in order to help him out, they drove him to a local bakery and the guy was incredibly grateful.
This Is What Happens When The Mayor Bans Pubs On The Street
Here's a very impressive way of getting creative when the rules become complicated. We can attest that this is an extremely Brazilian thing to do since a nice cold beer at the end of the day with friends and family is often a must. So, when the mayor decided to put a stop to pub tables on the street, the people of Brazil found a way to still have a good time.
Someone had the brilliant idea of driving a truck with an open back that could fit a few chairs and tables. That way, the pub was moved from the street to the truck and there was nothing the authorities could do about it.
Local Police Patrolling Using Buffalos
Now, this is not something you sees every day. In many countries around the world, we often see police riding on horses or some other animal. But we have never really seen the police riding and patroling on what looks like a water buffalo. Apparently, this may be some sort of common practice in some cities around the country, and it certainly makes the authorities look pretty interesting.
We do feel bad for the water buffalos though that should probably be chilling in nature somewhere, and not patrolling the hot streets of Brazil. Hopefully, this picture was taken a while ago and this is not necessarily common practice anymore.
When Your Dog Doesn't Bite But Throws Bricks
Here's a very special Brazilian dog who refrains from barking and biting people but does something else instead. The doggie seems to not only be a cutie, but also a guard dog that takes its role very seriously. Instead of scaring people off by barking at them, the dog has found an innovative way of keeping people away from the house. While the picture is pretty self-explanatory, let's unpack this.
This dog is so strong that it grabs bricks by the mouth and stands there waiting to throw the bricks down whenever it's necessary (or at least that's what we got from this image).
This Person Teaches Others To Bake Bread In The Form Of Capybara
Here's another thing we don't see every day! This baker went on national television to not only teach others how to bake bread from scratch but to also show how to bake it in an extremely unusual shape. For those who don't know, the capybara is a huge cavy rodent that is mostly found in South American countries, including Brazil. This person seems to take a lot of pride in the native animal, so much so that they even created a way of baking something in the shape of it.
Cute as this may be, it might be a little bit awkward to cut this bread since it really does resemble the South American animal.
Cotton Candy Sellers Get Creative
Selling cotton candy is quite common all over the world, and as we can see in this picture, in some countries, cotton candy sellers tend to get really creative. This group of Brazilian cotton candy sellers hit the beach with one of the most loved superhero costumes of all time, Spiderman! Each of them wore it in their own way, captivating the looks of several beachgoers who were instantly drawn to the creative men.
It's safe to say that wearing the costume probably got them the attention they needed to sell that cotton candy at a faster rate than they would if they were simply cruising around the beach in a regular outfit.
A Brazilian Christmas Tree Made Of Cucumbers
Now, this is a very creative way of decorating a store while using a popular vegetable. Everybody loves cucumbers, and this Christmas decoration in the supermarket's produce aisle couldn't be more fitting. With cherry tomatoes acting as festive baubles, you probably wouldn't be able to tell that this isn't a real tree from a distance.
This store decided to take their veggie love to a whole other level by creating this impressive Christmas tree, and we're sure their shoppers loved it.
An Uber Driver Tried to Keep the Sun off His Phone
Uber drivers spend hours and hours in the sun during their work trips, and while the harsh sun is mostly blocked by the car itself, it can get pretty hot. And because they usually have their phones close to the windshield, their phones are also exposed to an insane amount of heat. So this uber driver made sure to look for a solution that wouldn't only protect his phone from harmful rays, but would also put a smile on people's faces.
And that's exactly what he managed to achieve when he bought this tiny hat and placed it on his phone. The tiny hat is just one of those things that make Brazil so unique!
This Brazilian Guy Created His Own Submarine
Every day, we are lucky to hear life-changing stories of people who take matters into their own hands and make some of the most impressive inventions in the world. This Brazilian guy called Ibere Thenório is surely one of those people, after his creation quite literally made waves worldwide. The Brazilian dreamer and YouTuber gave himself the task of learning how to build a submarine, and that's exactly what he did.
It took him four years to build the submarine and the support of millions of followers and subscribers through his YouTube channel. Finally, he succeeded with the task and shared the moment he tested the submarine for the first time with everyone online.
This Bull Was Just Chilling In Front Of The Brazilian Federal Police Offices
We're pretty sure that if a bull like this one was standing in front of any door, we would most certainly not try to go in there. So we can hardly blame the Brazilian federal policemen for not going in the building that day. This guy looks angry! The photo was snapped by an onlooker who could simply not handle how hilarious it was that the entire place shut down because of a single bull.
We truly do hope that the bull was safely removed or simply left by itself, and that business continued as usual after the photo was taken.
This Grandma Crocheted A Tiny Mat For Her Son's Bike
There is absolutely no one in this world like a granny. There is something about grandparents, at least most of them, that transpires love and care like no other. This granny is no exception! When her granddaughter visited one day, she noticed that her uncle's bike had a new knitted item underneath it. In order to prevent the bike from scratching the floor, granny decided to use her crocheting abilities to find a solution.
She went ahead and crocheted this tiny mat that was perfectly created for the bike's pedal. It not only looked cute, but it also prevented any further scratches on the floor.
This Man Rescued A Baby Lion Tamarin And Then Returned It To Mom
We cannot have enough stories of people who put everything aside and rescue a tiny helpless animal. These acts of kindness really do restore our faith in the world and make us believe that perhaps not all is bad. This Brazilian guy is just another example of a kind person who stopped everything they were doing to take a baby lion tamarin with him, feed him, and get him ready to return to mom safely.
Once he felt that the tamarin was ready, he went ahead and gave it back to the mom, who was probably completely heartbroken. Just look at the mom's expression in the second picture.
This Sidewalk In Sao Paulo Was Taken Over By Trees
Some types of trees require regular maintenance, which is often crucial for things to go smoothly. In this case, it seems like the municipality of Sao Paulo cut some slack to this street because the pavement ended up being flooded with trees. Now, the trees are obviously stunning and extremely necessary for the city, but some trees have stronger roots than others, so they either need to be maintained or shouldn't be planted next to a sidewalk.
With time, these roots started to take over, resulting in a pavement that is almost impossible to walk on. While it looks pretty cool, they might have to find a solution for it sometime soon.
There's Always A Barbecue Happening In Brazil
Okay, no matter where one is in Brazil, it is a known fact that Brazilians absolutely love a good barbeque. If there is a barbeque and some samba music happening nearby then we can be sure that everyone in there is having a great time. It seems like this guy didn't have a proper place to barbeque at home, but that didn't stop him from finding a creative solution for it.
He simply opened his back window, used his television antenna, and improvised with a tiny barbeque. This is definitely a great way of inspiring us to always find a way, even when it seems like a task may be impossible to complete.
When Brazil's Vice-President Gives An Interview Shirtless
Only in Brazil could the vice-president literally give a shirtless interview in the middle of a hot summer. In the interview, vice-president Hamilton Mourão spoke about several topics, including the fact that Northern Brazilian beaches were now ready to be used after a ton of oil had polluted them. But the funniest thing was that literally, every single person was wearing a shirt around him.
The vice-president was just being chill and found absolutely nothing unusual about the fact that he was not wearing a shirt while on duty. Only in Brazil!
After This Retired Man Proved That He Was Alive In 2020, The Bank Wasn't Convinced
If you or anyone you know has been to Brazil, then you have probably heard about the interesting (for the lack of a better word) bureaucratic processes in the country. Unfortunately, it's not so easy to succeed in certain institutions, including everything from banks to government agencies and anything that requires papers and bureaucracies. While the example of what this man went through may sound hilarious, we can only imagine the frustration he must have felt.
Apparently, the man was told to prove that he was alive in 2020 in order to get something from the bank, but after he proved that he was alive in 2020, the bank required proof that he was alive in 2019. What?
When The Public Transport System Doesn't Specify Which Type Of Mask They Require
Brazilian Carnaval is known all over the world, with people saving for years in order to experience the unique event. So it's safe to say that different types of masks and costumes are not rare around the country, and people probably get to buy them any time of the year. So, when the pandemic hit and different places started to require the use of masks, some people didn't really know how to interpret this new rule.
While some people got the memo and understood that what was needed was a face mask to protect themselves and others from the virus, others got a different idea.
Marcelo The Cockatiel Does Not Like Visitors
Many people's first reaction when they see cute animals is to attempt to pet them or to play with them. But by the looks of things, Marcelo de cockatiel is pretty over it, so its owner decided to put a very direct message outside his little cardboard crib. The message warns visitors of the danger they would be facing if they attempted to put their hands on Marcelo.
Now, we have no idea how Marcelo has reacted in the past, but we can assume that some people have already regretted playing with the not-so-welcoming yellow cockatiel.
This News Reporter Tried To Interview A Dog
If like us, you've been on a dog video loop once or twice, and you've probably seen dogs who are trained to "talk." The most famous breed to do so is husky, with many huskies out there being able to say things such as "I love you," or "hello," and many other simple words and phrases. Undoubtedly, they look incredibly smart and adorable when they do so, but we're pretty sure this wasn't the case with this doggie.
The Brazilian interviewer tried her luck when she saw this pup passing by with its owner, and attempted to interview it. To her surprise, the dog simply grabbed the microphone and chewed on it.
This Mico Actually Posed For The Photo
It's not every day that we attempt to pose with an animal and the animal actually poses for the photo. People do it every day, they see a cute animal, grab their phone and snap a selfie, though most of these selfies show an uncomfortable or unaware animal. So when this girl grabbed her phone after she saw a tiny mico, she didn't really expect much of the photo she was about to take.
To her surprise though, the moment she snapped the photo the mico looked straight at the camera and gave her a little thumbs up. Whether the mico was aware of it or not isn't clear, but the girl ended up with the coolest selfie ever.
When Public Transport Goes To A Whole Other Level
While this photo was definitely taken inside a bus in Brazil, we can't say that it represents what every public transport looks like around the country. Unfortunately, though, there are several problems with the Brazilian public transport system, which has been a huge topic of conversation over the years. In this picture, we get to have a little glimpse into it, though it's not so easy to understand what exactly is going on there.
Either it was too hot, too full, or these passengers simply felt like getting some air, they opened the bus' skylight and sat on the roof.
When You Forget To Bring Your Lock
There aren't many places in the world where a person could simply leave their bike unlocked expecting no one would steal it. Unfortunately, in most places, if the bike isn't locked, the chances of someone grabbing it and riding away are very high. Obviously, this kid didn't have a lock to use on his bike, so he decided to get creative.
Since he couldn't simply take the bike inside, he found a different solution that seems to be quite painful. He literally held his bike the entire time he worked on his computer. Ouch!
A Dog Was Arrested For Helping People Smuggle Weed
If this is not the funniest thing you've seen today then we don't know what is. The weed industry is huge and illegal in most countries, so people go to great lengths to sell and buy it. These people got creative when they decided to get a dog involved. But things eventually got ugly when the smugglers were caught and taken to the local police station.
To everyone's surprise, the dog was taken with them and was held in custody for a while until they eventually released the pup due to its inability to answer questions. What makes this entire thing even funnier is the look of surprise on the dog's face.
This Gas Station In The Middle Of The River
While these are definitely special to see, floating gas stations don't only exist in Brazil. These cool floating fuel stations can be found all over South America, and serve vessels, yachts, boats, and even planes sometimes. There are a few special permissions that these fuel stations need to have in order to legally operate in the water and to provide gas to others.
The station looks unbearably cool, especially for those who had no idea such a thing existed. Apparently, several of them can be found across local water sources in Brazil, and they are very popular among sailors.
Safety Is Always The Most Important Thing Of All
Informal work is quite common in Brazil, especially due to difficulties in finding formal employment across the country. For that reason, people dive into all types of professions, and some of them aren't always the safest. We don't quite know what these guys are doing, but they have certainly found an interesting solution for their difficulties with using a short ladder.
Instead of buying a new one, this group of men took an old window made of wire and while two of them held the wire that supported the ladder, the other guy climbed up. In addition to this, they are wearing flip-flops, which makes it even more unsafe.
This Guy Has An Interesting Pet
Well, not everyone chooses your typical pet to have at home, and this Brazilian guy surely did whatever he thought he should to get a companion. Instead of a dog, or even a cat, the guy got a goose and seems to have trained it to behave like any other domestic animal. Just like that, the guy put a leash on the goose and walked around with it in town while running errands and getting a snack.
Obviously, people were surprised, so someone had to snap a shot of the unusual moment. We know geese as pretty noisy animals, so they must make good guard animals.
When Food Has To Be Locked With An Anti-Theft Alarm
Sadly, there isn't much to laugh about when it comes to this picture. When a supermarket locks its food with anti-theft alarms, that probably comes as the result of people stealing meat and other supplies. And when people steal food to survive, then we have to agree that things don't seem to be so good and equal in the country. While the prices for basic things like food and gas continue to increase in Brazil, salaries and the quality of living seem to decrease.
In addition to this supermarket, several other places that sell food began adopting the same security method not only in Brazil but in other countries too, reflecting the difficult economic situation these countries are in.
Ensuring That No One Can Steal That Security Camera
Another example that brings up some mixed feelings. One doesn't really know whether to laugh or cry by looking at this picture. After installing security cameras all over this establishment, the security team decided that they needed to secure the camera by using a steel cable. That way, if anyone attempted to get rid of the camera or its tape, they wouldn't be able to do so.
Now, we've seen thieves doing some impressive stuff on TV, so who says that no one would find their way around this steel cable?
Police Ironically Finds Weed In Anti-Drug Mascot
Well, the irony here is just dumbfounding. The police managed to find a stash of weed hidden inside a lion stuffed toy here. But this wasn't just any stuffed toy out there. It was literally the mascot created to incentivize people to not do drugs.
The back of it read: "Be smart... Don't do drugs." So just try to imagine the surprise on the cops' faces when found the stash inside.
This Sloth Posing On A Motorbike
Now, we don't really know if this sloth is actually enjoying this or that smile is just the animal's automatic reaction to stressful situations. But somehow, this biker was driving down the road when they noticed a sloth nearby. So instead of leaving it there, the person decided to stop, grab the sloth, and place it on the motorbike as if the sloth was just about to drive away.
The moment made for a funny picture, but we're not sure this was the best decision for the poor sloth. Hopefully, they released it back to nature right after he snapped the shot.
This Person Protected Herself From COVID From Head To Toe
Nowadays, it's not so hard for a person to go viral for doing something silly. All it takes is a mobile phone and an internet connection, a few shares, and you become instantly famous. This nurse was really afraid of the coronavirus outbreak when it reached Brazil since the country had some some the highest mortality rates in the world, with a very controversial response from the local government.
To protect herself, this nurse used this unusual protective gear from head to toe. People were so surprised by her appearance that she ended up appearing on the news and even going viral.
When The Army Watches Transformers Too Many Times
Seriously, this tank doesn't seem like something made in our world. If you're a fan of movies such as Mad Max and Transformers, then one could argue that we're looking at one of their props here. But according to the person who took this picture, the huge machine actually belongs to the Brazilian military, and no one has any idea what they were thinking when they built the very elaborate machine.
The machine also seems to be quite misplaced in the middle of the city, so we wonder what the military does with such a thing in the middle of a building in town. Hopefully, we're just looking at a prop.
This Guy's Bird Goes With Him Literally Everywhere
Once again, we see that walking around with unusual pets is not so uncommon in Brazil. This guy seems to take his bird everywhere, including the local ATM machine. And although this may be an ordinary sight for some people, others might get pretty shocked when they see such a thing.
And since we've seen that some animals can be pretty sketchy, who is to say that his bird won't memorize the code that this guy just typed in?
Sometimes You Just Do What You Gotta Do
If you take public transport on a regular basis, then you probably know that sometimes the trip can get pretty uncomfortable. This is especially true if a person spends hours after hours sitting (or sometimes standing) commuting back and forth. In order for time to pass a little bit faster, people tend to use their phones for the most part of the trip, talking to people, watching things, or just listening to music.
Now, this guy didn't seem to have a comfortable place to put his phone and he didn't feel like holding it. So he went ahead and found an innovative solution by placing his phone safely at the back of his hat.
When The Horse Needs Some Protection
If like most people you've recently watched Squid Game, then there is no way you'll miss the fact this horse seems to be wearing the uniforms we see in the Netflix South Korean series. Apparently, this is a common sight in Brazil, especially in places where people live with their horses. Now, it is unclear whether this horse is wearing this because it's cold or because it's dirty and its owners are trying to keep the dirt away from it.
Whatever the reason is, there is no doubt that the horse looks very well taken care of, and even quite comfortable with its pink outfit.
Having Some Fun In A Brazilian Favela
Different favelas can be found spread all over Brazil with millions of people living in them. For those who don't know, a favela is a kind of Brazillian slum that was the result of decades and even centuries of neglect by authorities. The first-ever favela to exist came about all the way back during the 19th century, after homeless soldiers from the War of Canudos had nowhere to live.
Since that first favela was built in Rio de Janeiro, many other favelas were built, with more than 1,000 favelas existing today in Rio alone. And while living in a favela can be painful and hard, this picture reminds us that there is creativity and a lot of good in them too.
This Is What The Brazilian Home Starter Pack Looks Like
Now that we're all a little bit more informed about what typical Brazilian things look like, we can be officially introduced to what is known as the "Brazilian starter pack." Just like in other countries around the world, there are certain things that many people from that country have or do, and this compilation of pictures is just an example of what a "typical" Brazilian home would have.
Be it a little dog, bars on every window, local tea, or really good coffee, we can definitely relate to these. So for those who have never been to Brazil, they now know what to look out for to feel like locals when they finally do.
